Vero Voce is proud to announce its upcoming "New Playwright
Festival". The production will offer up and coming playwrights the opportunity to have their one act plays produced
and performed on Vero Voce's live stage. "As an actor and a writer, I understand how difficult it can be to find a venue
to produce your show, especially if it's only a one act," says David M. Rodriguez, Artistic Director of Vero Voce's Theatre
Company, "This is something I always wished people would do for me, so we figured why not give that opportunity to writers
out there."
Writers will submit their scripts, which will then be reviewed by the Vero Voce board members, who will then select the
pieces for the production. All genres are welcome, from comedy and drama, to monologues and even avant garde. Plays
should run no longer than thirty minutes, and no less than five minutes. The number of scripts selected will depend
on the lengths of those submitted. The selected plays will then be produced by Vero Voce, directed by its board members,
and performers will be chosen via auditions. Playwrights are welcome to attend as many rehearsals as they like. All
pieces should be submitted in a PDF format to media@verovoce.com.
